School visits

Children enjoying a reading of 'Oops Hari!' by Sue and Tristan-Sean

The Hari Schools Outreach Programme is gathering pace as the good news spreads about the fun children have interacting with the Readers. These are memorable events for children and many of them go on to become members of HarisWorld. Teachers welcome the readings because these bring out confidence in the children and serve to re-enforce the safety messages being taught at their schools as part of the schools curriculum.

Hari and the team would be happy to visit your school, playgroup, nursery or organisation. The school sessions are centred on ‘Oops Hari!’ and aim to teach children about Safety Awareness in a fun, exciting, imaginative and interactive way! Hari's motto is "Enjoy the freedoms of living, but Play Safe not Sorry!" Return visits centre on ‘Hari at Home’ the second book in the Hari Child Safety awareness Series.

Readings are about 45 minutes duration allowing for ‘Spot the Hazards’ by the children. Timings can be extended to include ‘Questions from the Children’, judging colouring competitions of scenes from HarisWorld.com completed before the visit, also book signings. Hari Readers are flexible to meet the requirements of schools for either half-day or full-day Readings.

Fees

Whilst we support the Society of Authors recommended rates for School Appearances ranging from £300 to £500 per event, we adopt their minimum rate of £150 per event plus VAT and expenses. In fact we go one step further and with our current rate of £150 plus VAT and expenses per morning session and £200 plus VAT and expenses for a full day regardless of how many readings we are asked to deliver. We will review this from time to time.
